As you may have guessed, I have decided to end the Dark Mission Blog. This will be the last entry. It has been a great ride - Expat notwithstanding - but I feel it is time for me to move on and expand my horizons. I will still be blogging, but I will now be moving over to the Lightbringer Blog where I can comment on more than just the ongoing government conspiracy to cover-up the existence of extraterrestrial artifacts (LOL I sound like Fox Mulder at a bar after too many shots of Patron).

Please note that I will still be addressing the issues raised in Dark Mission, but since there won't be a Dark Mission II, I just felt it was time to move on. All of you guys are free to move over there, and I value the contributions of everybody, Hathor, Max, and even the big guy, Jim O. I suspect that over a beer or 2 we'd probably agree on more things than either of us would like to admit.

I'll be launching the Lightbringer Blog with a couple of career announcements on Monday, so everybody have a great New Year's celebration and I'll see you 2010, which promises to be an exciting year of change.

OK, What Was it?

A few days ago, the interweb news nodes went nuts over a bizarre spiral formation which appeared in the skies over Norway. At first, I was impressed; it looked like for all the world like hyperdimensional weapon or even some kind of rail gun device going off. It didn’t take long for Richard Hoagland and lots of others in the UFO community to comment on it, and point out all of the reasons why it had to be aliens or some kind of Star Wars weapons test, and on the eve of Barack Hussein Obama’s (laughable) Nobel Peace Prize award no less! Adding to all the intrigue was the fact that this “cosmic pulse ray” seemed to be coming from the southwest, right in the direction of a HAARP-like device (called EISCAT) which was run by a consortium of European countries.

I decided to sit back and not comment on this for a number of reasons, but primarily because I figured there would be some kind of official explanation coming along quickly. At first, the Russians denied that it was a missile test that they had conducted, as would be customary if they got caught testing weapons over another country, but then they quickly reversed themselves and said, "yeah, it was ours." Of course, numerous UFO spokesman immediately cried foul, and claimed that we were seeing another Phoenix Lights type of cover-up, where the US military claimed that a massive boomerang shaped craft which flew slowly over that city in 1997 was actually flares from a weapons testing range over a hundred miles away.

However, in looking now at the video, I have to say that the claim of an errant Russian missile makes the most sense to me. Notice that there is a darker, bluish coil of exhaust behind the spiral; this implies to me that we are seeing the thrust cloud of a missile or rocket which has either been spun for stabilization\control purposes or is in fact spiraling out of control.

Note also how in some images the blue pulse is very tight, but then it rapidly diffuses until it is just a puffy plume of smoke or exhaust. This is exactly what I would expect to see if this is simply illuminated rocket exhaust.

Now, as to the tight, glowing spiral itself, again, this looks to me to be a rocket stage venting gas of some kind as it spins. The illumination is coming from the rocket exhaust at the back of the stage, creating the tight spiral effect. Also realizing that this is Norway and there are likely to be lots and lots of ice droplets in the upper atmosphere (if not the lower), the effect is even more dramatic. The ice droplets act like a million tiny mirrors, refracting the light and amplifying and emphasizing the glow. Now, if the fuel or whatever was being vented had ignited, we would certainly have seen a far more dramatic finish to the whole affair. As it is, we got a pretty dramatic “black hole” forming at the center of the spiral, but again, I think there is a perfectly logical explanation for this.

The mysterious “black hole” which appears in the center of the spiral as it dissipates also fits what I’d expect to see from a rocket stage burning out. Once the rocket has exhausted its fuel, the brilliant white spiral is going to lose its primary light source, and the result will logically be a dark spot which rapidly expands (from the distant viewers eye) and consumes the spiral.

So I don’t think this is a hyperdimensional weapons test or an alien device or at all. I think it’s a rocket that got out of control, was venting gas, and simply got caught on camera. And it all happened under some fairly unique weather conditions, which created the spiral effect.

Alternatively, this may very well have been a political statement on the part of the Russians. Barack Huessein Obama is (at best) the political reincarnation of the weak Jimmy Carter, and the Russians may have just been firing a shot across the bow to make a political point. But to decide it is a new weapons test without any real evidence is farther than I am willing to go. The Russians in fact do have some very sophisticated weaponry – ask Tom Bearden – but I doubt very seriously they were demonstrating it for all the world to see.

Having said that, it is plausible that this was in fact a staged event designed to get people buzzing about what it was. They could certainly have used a conventional rocket to create an event that appeared to be other-worldy, much like the recent Independence Day events in Moscow and elsewhere. But that plays into a wholly different kind of conspiracy – one that has a lot more to do with 2012 than it does with Obama’s absurd Nobel Prize.

More Confirmation of Bara\Hoagland Mars Tidal Model

A new paper to be published in the latest edition of the Journal of Geophysical Research says that Mars once had a vast Northern ocean, exactly along the lines Richard and I described in our Mars Tidal Model paper in 2001.

The research, led by Wei Luo of Northern Illinois University, shows that Mars' valley networks are much more extensive than previously thought, and this strongly implies that they were carved by the flow of water from an ancient ocean in the Northern lowlands. Where our two theories differ of course is in not just the time frame, but the source of these valley networks. Luo, like all mainstream geologists, assumes that this vast ocean must have existed in Mars' ancient past, at least 2 billion years ago. Our model says it was much more recent than that, anywhere from 65 million to perhaps 2 million years ago.

We also differ in our models as to the source of this Northern ocean. In the MTM, the ocean was actually centered around 2 anti-podal locations on the Tharsis and Arabia bulges, with Olympus Mons towering over the largest of these two tidally locked water masses and with Vallis Marineris being carved from a tidal bore between these two enormous bodies of water. When the tidal lock was suddenly broken by the violent destruction of Planet V, the parent planet around which Mars once orbited, all of this water suddenly broke loose and flowed downhill into the Northern and Southern lowlands. The southern ocean was quickly covered up or evaporated under the bombardment of debris from the destroyed Planet V, while the outflows to the North scoured the Martian surface and deposited the remaining water in the new Northern lowlands, where it froze solid over the next several decades. In this model, the channels were carved very rapidly by the catastrophic flow of the tidal locked oceans into these lower regions.

Clearly, our model is correct, as earlier studies have failed to find a shoreline for this projected Northern ocean. This is because the mainstream scientists are looking for a shoreline from an ancient, long standing ocean in the North, while in fact the water flowed so quickly it never had time to form a cliff line along the shore before it froze. There is, conversly, ample evidence to support our idea for a tidal locked ocean on the Tharsis bulge; it is quite simply Olympus Mons itself, which has a 6 mile high cliff line all around it from the battering waves of the tidal ocean.

Maybe someday the mainstream guys will get out of their paradigm paralysis long enough to face the facts about Mars' geological history and the enormous implications it has for re-writing the history of the entire Solar System. Until then, we must be satisfied with once again being confirmed by their work, even if they don't understand what it means.

11/11 - The Vatican Says ET Probably Exists

We all (hopefully) realize that the current Mayan calendar Long Count cycle ends on December 21st, 2012, or 12/21/2012. What is less commonly known is that the actual moment of cycle is 11:11 AM GMT on that date. 11:11 is also a tetrahedral number, as Richard likes to say, as it is conencted mathmatically to both 19.47 and 33, two crucially significant numbers in the whole Hyperdimensional Physics matrix.

Gieven that, I found it interesting that the Vatican's chief astronomer was quoted today (11/11/09) as saying that a recent Vatican conference on the existence of ET's reached the conclusion that ET is probably out there, if not maybe visiting right now. At the least, these news stories are new fodder for the "Obama is the disclosure President" crowd, of which my co-author is a member.

The symbolism of it all is intruiging to me, although I suspect that 11/11/2011 (11:11:11, or 33) will be a far more interesting day.

Still and all, kinda cool.

The New Edition Hits the Stores!

I was out with my friend Alyssa the other day and we stopped by the local Borders to look for some items. We found 7 copies of the new edition of Dark Mission, one of which you see here. That's quite a few for an updated 2-year old title in one store, and they were also face out, which likely means they were expecting to sell them all. This is a good sign.

I put most of them on the front table next to Dan Brown's new book. This one I stuck in front of Carl Sagan's books in the astronomy section.

Is This Nibiru?

Most of us know about Zecharia Sitchin and his theories about "Nibiru," the massive planet-killing body that he says wanders through the solar system every 3,600 years. Sitchin derived this idea from his interpretations of ancient Sumerian cylinder seals and other cuneiform texts.

More recently, a British researcher named Andy Lloyd has posited the theory that Nibiru is not a planet but a star -- a Brown Dwarf star to be exact. In Lloyd's model, the Annunaki, the inhabitants of Nibiru, actually live on a moon that orbits this brown dwarf. He has posted his "Dark Star Theory" on the web and piled up quite a bit of interesting reading on his site.

I've always been interested in Sitchin's work because I think it is at least partially correct, and much of what he claims is in line with my own work with Richard Hoagland. Part of that was covered in Dark Mission, specifically where I mentioned my interactions with Dr. Gary Neugebauer around an object IRAS spotted in 1982 that was the subject of a Washington Post front page story. Since then, I've been trying to track down more information on the object with little success. There have even been purported images of Nibiru posted on the Internet from time to time. But just today Andy posted an article to his web site that contains an IRAS image of an object in Orion that he thinks may be the brown dwarf he has theorized. He got it from an astronomer friend, and I find his story credible simply because of the weird way that Neugebauer acted when I inquired about the 1982 article. Take a look and see what you think.

Van Flandern Confirmed Again - Asteroid 1994 CC Has Satellites

In his book "Dark matter, missing planets and new comets," the late Dr. Tom Van Flandern postulated, based on his Exploded Planet Hypothesis (EPH), that virtually all asteroids would be found to have orbiting satellites. This was based on his initial observation that chunks of debris from tests of Russian anti-satellite weapons had a tendency to orbit each other, smaller chunks assuming orbit around larger ones. This observation has now been confirmed numerous times, with the latest being asteroid 1994 cc. Radar observations at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico have confirmed that 1994 cc is indeed 3 objects, not one, as is assumed by the conventional models.

This is simply more evidence in support of Van Flandern's theory, which looks stronger by the day. Since very few Near Earth Objects or other asteroids have been observed, and a sizable percentage have now been found to have satellites, it follows that a very high percentage of asteroids have satellites or moons, and that strongly implies that his EPH is correct.

The revised and expanded (and final) edition of the New York Times Bestseller "Dark Mission - The Secret History of NASA" by Richard C. Hoagland and Mike Bara, will be released to bookstores on October 6th, 2009. Coming 2 years after the release of the original edition, the newly revised and expanded edition will feature a new 47 page insert which updates and expands upon issues raised in the original edition. It will also include more than 20 new, never before seen images of anomalies on the Moon and Mars.

"We're very excited about this new edition," co-author Richard C. Hoagland stated in an interview. "It closes some open loops, clarifies some ongoing disputes, and takes the whole premise of the book in a new direction."

Co-author Mike Bara agrees. "I think readers will be more than satisfied with the new edition," he said. "We've moved the ball forward quite a bit while addressing lingering issues raised in the first edition."

Publisher Feral House Books is also looking at ways to distribute high resolution versions of the more than 100 images published in Dark Mission. "There is no comparison to the fidelity you can get from these digital images on a computer screen compared to print," Bara said. "However we decide to distribute the images electronically, purchasers of the new edition will certainly get a discount, at the least."

The revised and expanded edition of Dark Mission will be in bookstores October 6th, with pre-ordering through outlets like Barnes and Noble.com and Amazon.com beginning in August.

Phoenix Finds Liquid Water on Mars

Rick Sterling, one of our readers (and a frequent source of “heads-up’s” from his constant data mining of the internet) recently sent us a copy of a paper that declares that globules photographed on one of struts of NASA’s Mars Phoenix lander are in fact liquid water. As anybody who reads this blog (or Dark Mission) knows, my co-author and I have long argued that Mars is suitable for liquid water, even in its currently dormant icy state.

Not only did we successfully predict exactly where NASA would find subsurface water ice based on our steadfastly ignored Mars Tidal Model, we have long held that dark streaks frequently photographed on the Martian sands are from bursting pockets of liquid water.

NASA has maintained that Mars cannot support water in a liquid state since water vapor in the Martian atmosphere was measured by the Viking Orbiter Mars Atmospheric Water Detection instrument. The findings indicated the planet’s atmosphere was too thin and its temperatures too low to allow water in a liquid state. However, Dr. Gil Levin, the principal investigator on the Viking Labeled Release experiment, has argued for years that NASA’s assessment is based on a faulty assumption: namely that the planet’s thin layer of water vapor is evenly distributed throughout the atmosphere. Levin argues that it is far more likely that the water is concentrated in lower three feet of the atmosphere, creating an environment where pressure and temperatures can exceed the triple point of water, at least some of the time. This conclusion supports his long held contention that the positive life signs detected in the LRE were legitimate indications of current microbial life on the Red Planet.

Liquid water is of course crucial to the existence of life in any environment, and NASA has dragged its feet for years on reaching the conclusion that should now be obvious: Mars not only has liquid water at the surface; it has life. However, it also clear that such an admission is now only a matter of time as we follow the “timed release aspirin” model of such revelations that the Brookings Report recommended.

One other aspect of this paper that Rick pointed out was this statement:

“… brines have a large dielectric constant that can cause attenuation of radar signals as that measured by Mars orbiters…”

Now that’s really interesting, because we didn’t know that there were radar signals measured by the Mars orbiters. I wonder; what else might this radar data show?

We’ll see.

So once again, we see there is no discovery about Mars that we can’t figure out years before they’ll admit to it.

Now, when will they get around to admitting Mars was once a moon of a long missing planet? At this rate, not for decades, if ever.

The First Freemason on the Moon Speaks

One of the interesting revelations in Dark Mission is that NASA is not a civilian science agency, as most people believe, but rather an adjunct of the defense department. In the introduction, my co-author Richard C. Hoagland cites the information this way:

“Contrary to common public and media perception, however—that NASA is an open, strictly civilian scientific institution—the fact is that it was quietly founded as a direct adjunct to the Department of Defense, tasked with specifically assisting (via its unique technical capabilities, if not its potential breakthrough discoveries in outer space) the national security of the United States, in the midst of a deepening Cold War with its major geopolitical adversary, the Soviet Union. It says so right in the original civilian NASA Charter:

“Sec. 305... (i) The [National Aeronautics and Space] Administration shall be considered a defense agency of the United States for the purpose of Chapter 17, Title 35 of the United States Code...” [Emphasis added.]

In another section of the act, this seldom-discussed primary defense responsibility—the ultimate undercutting of NASA’s continuing public facade as a strictly civilian, scientific agency—is blatantly spelled out:
“Sec. 205... (d) No [NASA] information which has been classified for reasons of national security shall be included in any report made under this section [of the act]...” [Emphasis added.]

Clearly, from this and the other security provisions incorporated in the act, what the Congress, the press and the American taxpayers get to see of NASA’s ultimate activities—including untouched images and data regarding what’s really on the Moon, on Mars or anywhere else across the solar system—is totally dependent, under the Space Act, on whether the President of the United States (and/or his legal surrogates in the Department of Defense and the “intelligence community”) has already secretly classified that data. This is directly contrary to everything we’ve been led to believe regarding NASA for over fifty years.”

Now, the poster formally known as douche ba… uh, expat, tried to argue that these provisions only applied to patentable discoveries, because title 35 specifically deals with such discoveries. A discussion of that subject is here.

But now, the second man (and first Freemason) to set foot on the surface of the Moon has chimed in on the subject. 33rd degree Scottish Rite Freemason Buzz Aldrin had this to say recently in a SpaceRef.com interview on President Obama’s space proposals:

“It was evident that NASA's fortune of managing successful programs took a sudden dive for the worse right after the Apollo-17 mission was completed in 1972. Some might believe the obscure budget level and weak political support of NASA was to blame for the downturn of the agency in the post-Apollo era. However, while there was some skin-deep truth to such blame, the real truth lies deeply beneath the geopolitical complexities of the inherent NASA governing paradigm under which the agency was created: a military entity converted for the purpose of winning the space race.”

So now, even the first Freemason on the Moon acknowledges what we already told you in Dark Mission; NASA is not a civilian science entity, it is a military operation disguised as one. So don’t take our word for it, take Buzz’ word for it.

Pictograms From the Edge

A few years ago, a debate ensued between Richard and me and the self-anointed “serious Cydonia researchers” over at SPSR. The debate, which included the late lamented Dr. Tom Van Flandern concerned the perceived presence of “pictograms” on the Martian surface. Van Flandern even went so far as to bring up these patterns in the Martian sands at his ill-fated “Artificial Structures on Mars” press conference in 2001. We also covered the issue in chapter 8 of Dark Mission.

We had always argued that these pictograms were only real in the minds of the SPSR researchers, who just couldn’t bring themselves to align with the much better arguments of a couple of rogue conspiracy theorists like us. Some of the most egregious examples of their ideas are shown below.

At any rate, when I saw a recent Time magazine piece on the best objects spotted on Google Earth, I couldn’t help but hearken back to this old debate. Obviously, this mesa as seen from above looks like an Aztec Indian figure with a feathered headdress. He also seems to have acquired a pair of iPod headphones. In looking at it closer, I also noticed what appears to be a second whooping Indian face behind the first one.

The point is, these are both optical illusions. They are, like most of SPSR’s “pictograms” only recognizable in profile, like the Old Man of the Mountain in New Hampshire. This differentiates it from the Face, which is a face on view with 3 dimensional relief, a high degree of bi-lateral symmetry, and it resides in the midst of a series of other anomalous objects which have significant mathematical relationships to each other. All of which just goes to illustrate the danger of Face hunting without applying the proper scientific protocols, as was done in the original early Cydonia investigations.

On a personal note, it has never ceased to amuse me that certain members of SPSR rip us over “NASA conspiracies” or Data’s Head on the Moon, but then buy into these silly Rorschach tests.

My First UFO?

Just saw it tonight in the skies over Redondo Beach. A bright ring of blue-white light flying low, rolling and tumbling, sometimes little strobes going off, no sound whatsoever. Last seen descending over the the Hollywood Riviera area. It was cool.

Meet the New Boss... the Same as the Old Boss

As anybody with a TV found impossible to avoid, Barack Hussein Obama was inaugurated as the nation’s 44th president this past January 20th in a traditional inauguration ceremony in Washington DC. The ceremony was notable not just for the lavish, over the top expense ($160 million) during what the press keeps calling the “greatest financial crisis since the Great Depression,” but it was also notable for the fact that Chief Justice John Roberts flubbed the Oath of Office. Obama, as he always is, was pretty much adrift without his teleprompter and interrupted Roberts in mid-recitation, throwing off the Chief Justice and then promptly repeating the mis-reading for all to hear.

As the story goes, later that same day Roberts and Obama got to talking at a luncheon, and decided that maybe they’d better have another go at it. There is substantial dispute as to whether the Oath of Office is constitutionally required or not. Some say that Article 2, Section 1, Clause 8 of the Constitution requires that the following Oath be administered before the president can legally take office:

"I [name] do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Personally, I’d like it better if this were changed to say “preserve, protect and defend the People and the Constitution of the United States.” After all, let’s face it; the democrats are pretty much into the whole “living breathing” concept of the Constitution, which basically means they can interpret it to say anything they feel like it says at any given moment (see Roe v. Wade, Dred Scott, eminent domain, etc.). But that isn’t really the point here.

Some view the 20th amendment to the Constitution as overriding the requirement for the Oath, but if you read the amendment it only states that the terms of the President and Vice President shall begin at noon on the 20th of January every four years. It says nothing about the President actually “enter(ing) upon the Execution of his Office” at that time. Other rulings have made it clear that there can be a power vacuum when no one is effectively President or Vice President, so it would seem that we do need the Oath after all.

At any rate, the new President and the Chief Justice evidently decided that a second Oath was necessary, just to be sure BHO was in fact the acting President. As most of us have heard by now, the real swearing in ceremony (if the first in fact, was invalid) Oath of Office was administered by Roberts in the White House in a quickie ceremony only witnessed by a couple of pool reporters, and with only one photographer present. Something of a mini-controversy arouse because the second time around, Obama didn’t make use of a bible, as is the tradition. So in essence, this was the first non-binding Oath of Office ever given a new President.

(I don’t know what the problem is guys. It could have been worse. At least he didn’t swear on the Koran…)

Naturally, all this symbolic ritualistic weirdness caught my attention. And well it should have.

The first thing I noticed was that the new ceremony took place at 7:30 PM local time (actually now, 7:35 according to some sources). 7:30 of course is actually 19:30 hours, or more precisely, 19.5 hours. Even though it was officially 7:35 and not exactly 7:30, it was, as the saying goes, “close enough for government work.” Readers of Dark Mission of course know all about the ritual significance of the number 19.5, and 19.5 degrees as it relates to NASA\Masonic ritual.

Benjamin Latrobe

The second interesting thing was that the Oath took place in the White House Map Room, a first floor room that was once used to plan war strategies and obviously, look at maps. This room is significant because it was part of an initial layout done by architect Benjamin H. Latrobe, well known as a master American architect of the early days of Washington DC and the man who did the majority of the architecture for the US Capitol building.

Latrobe, besides being famous for his original style and symbolic designs, was also (of course) a Freemason who was well acquainted with Thomas Jefferson, Washington and Benjamin Franklin. These 2 coincidences in of themselves had me intrigued, but I got even more interested when I started to do a little research on the Map Room itself.

Here is a Clinton era photograph of the Map Room, as it was furnished during that administration. Note the fire place, the window (facing south), the candelabras (there are 2, on either side of the fire place) and the portrait of Latrobe himself. All very nice and traditional.

Now look again at the one and only picture released by the White House of the second, and (by implication) official ceremony:

Notice anything different? Well, there’s the fire place, the candelabras and the portrait, along with the obvious lack of a bible. But how about the portrait of Benjamin Latrobe? In the Clinton era, it was hanging on the wall next to the window (behind Roberts in this photo), and now it has been moved to a place of prominence directly over the fire place and exactly between BHO and the Chief Justice. So as the new President takes his real, “official” oath -- at 19.5 hours -- the whole ceremony is being overseen (and blessed?) by Latrobe, architect, founder, and Freemason.

Hmm, I wonder if that was an accident?

Any suspicions I had along those lines were quickly erased as I looked for other pictures of the Map Room. In roaming the web, I found this image from a White House history site:

This is, according to the site, an image of the Map Room from a C-SPAN broadcast (obviously) in 2008. As you can see, as late as last year, the placement of Latrobe’s portrait remained unchanged from the Clinton years. Now this could have been January of 2008, but it could also have been from December of 2008, strongly implying that the picture was moved recently. It seems unlikely that with the Bush family scheduled to move out this year that they would bother to move the portrait themselves. After all, why mess with the décor of a rarely used room when you aren’t going to be around to enjoy the changes, especially this late in your administration? I think it makes pretty good sense to conclude that the portrait was moved after Obama took office, if not specifically for this very important ceremony. If that is the case, what does it imply for our new President and what does this symbolism signal about his true loyalties?

Bush took a lot of flack from the conspiracy culture for wanting to use a Masonic bible first used by George Washington for his inaugurations. What then will they think about Obama’s use of this critical Masonic symbolism in his?

So then I got to thinking; if the Masonic symbolism of this ceremony is so important, conducting it at 19.5 hours, moving the portrait of the Freemason who laid out the room to a prominent place overseeing the “Change you can believe in” era, what else might be symbolic about this photo? Well, for one thing, Obama is against the wall, facing due south. Looking at the position of the Map Room from the graphic below, it is clear he was facing the one and only window in the Map Room, which faces due south out across the Capitol Mall. So I wondered, what is out that window that he could have been symbolically facing?

If you guessed the Washington Monument, you get an “A.” From his position as he took the Oath, Mr. Change You Can Believe In was not only being symbolically blessed by a prominent Freemason, he was facing the monument to the country's most prominent Freemason, George Washington.

Now, as most of us know, the Washington Monument is a colossal 550 foot stone obelisk (yes, that is 6,660 inches -- 666 [0]) identical in geometry (if not in height) to the most magnificent stone obelisks of ancient Egypt. The connections of Freemasonry to the gods of ancient Egypt are well known and recounted in Dark Mission, so I won’t repeat them here.

At any rate, this gigantic structure, nearly five times larger than its tallest Egyptian counterpart, was designed by another famous American architect, Robert Mills. Mills was, of course, a Freemason like Latrobe. But not only that, he was a student of Latrobe’s in Philadelphia in the early 1800’s.

Starting to see a pattern here? Me too.

So we have a second swearing in ceremony, without the constraints of a bible (which god then did Barack Hussein Obama swear his Oath to, I wonder? Osiris?), conducted under the portrait of a prominent Freemason (which was probably moved just for that purpose) while in a room designed by that Freemason while facing a monument erected to a Freemason which was designed by a Freemason who was a student of the Freemason who laid out the Map Room.

Right? Oh yeah, and this all took place right around 19.5 hours on the 21st.

Okay. Anything else?

Of course.

Anytime I get a specific date, time and place for a ritual like this, whether it be a NASA ritual, a political ritual, or a religious ritual, I start wonder about the positions of the stars. As we’ve shown over and over, NASA has an affinity for arranging certain rituals in accordance with specific alignments related to the ancient Egyptian gods Isis, Osiris and Horus. These same Egyptian gods are also the highest deities worshiped by the Freemasons (among other esoteric organizations) so given the overwhelming Masonic overtones of this second swearing-in ceremony, I just couldn’t help myself.

What I got was interesting…

As our readers know, the Ritual Alignment Model we advocate has some pretty specific criteria. In order to classify something a “hit,” it has to be with ½ a degree of position and a minute or 2 of time. When I initially saw the location of Sirius (Isis) and Orion (Osiris) and Leo (Horus), I figured we had another one.

But when I checked the actual altitude, it turned out to be close, but no cigar.

At 7:35 EST, Sirius was at 18° 26’, one full degree off. Again, this is very close, but not close enough to declare a hit. Also interestingly, Regulus in Leo, which is the only star in that constellation we use for our RAM, was within the range for a hit on the horizon, rising at 38 minutes above Washington. Still, this was on the outside edge of the acceptable range. So using my trusty Red Shift software, I slowly turned back the clock until it was dead on the horizon, which turned out to be 7:31 PM. Advancing it in the same manner, Sirius came into perfect 19.5° alignment at 7:42 PM, some 6 minutes after the ceremony.

So there wasn’t an additional ritual hit, at least not one that fit the tight parameters we laid out in chapter 5 of Dark Mission. But the ceremony did take place in the middle of an 11 minute window between 2 significant alignments, one of Horus (Leo) and one of Isis (Sirius). And, even though it wasn’t a perfect hit, this is what Obama would have seen had he looked out across the Mall to the Washington Monument and beyond when he took the second, binding Oath…

After looking at this situation closely, I have to say it is an inauspicious omen for “change” in Washington. It seems to me our new President is just as ritually bound as our old one, and evidently beholden to the same fraternal puppet masters. At least, that seems to be the symbolic message.

Or as The Who put so succinctly decades ago, "Meet the new boss. The same as the old boss."

When Pseudoscientists Attack

In response to an email from an interested reader of Enterprise Mission.com, David Morrison, the director of NASA’s Lunar Science Institute, had this to say about my venerable co-author:

“I know Hoagland, and I also know that quite a few items in his bio are fiction: namely his references to working for NASA, working with Sagan, and talking at Ames. I would not want to stoop to "debate" with him. My interests are in science, not pseudoscience.”

Now, everybody is entitled to their opinion (and we all know what opinions are like, don’t we Dave?), but as usual, NASA does not respond with any substantive arguments on the evidence we present, they simply go to personal attacks as a reflexive response. As I put it in Dark Mission, mentioning Hoagland’s name around NASA elicits a reaction akin to what you get when you place a crucifix in front of vampire. After 30 years of this, you would think that NASA would have a better counter argument then simple name calling or easily rebutted mendacities.

You would think.

But that’s only if you buy their arguments that our work is “pseudoscience.”

As usual, Richard has better things to do than rebut such non-arguments, and frankly, so do I, but since this is my blog more than his I guess it falls to me to point out the obvious.

Again.

Let’s start with the “substance” of Morrison’s diatribe.

“I know Hoagland…” This is actually the only thing in Morrison’s response which is true. They do know each other, from over 30 years ago when Hoagland was covering NASA for CBS and the early years of the Voyager missions at JPL. A decent start, Dave.

“…and I also know that quite a few items in his bio are fiction…” Oh really? Do tell!

“…namely his references to working for NASA, working with Sagan, and talking at Ames.”

Okay, let’s take these “fictions” one by one, shall we? According to you, Dave, Richard never worked for NASA. I’m sure it benefits tossers like you tell people this, in the hopes of damaging Richard’s credibility or making yourselves look good, but it doesn’t really work as an argument for one simple reason: It’s a lie.

Here is Richard’s actual badge from his days working as a consultant at Goddard. You may notice it has a NASA logo emblazoned on it and says “NASA” about 87 times. It also says “GSFC,” which stands for “Goddard Space Flight Center. Last time I checked, that was a NASA facility. Perhaps you’ve heard of it?

And yes, despite the 70’s porn-star ‘stache, I can testify that absolutely is a picture of my co-author. I’d recognize him anywhere.

How unfortunate for you Dave that he kept his old badge all these years. I wonder if it would still get him in the door?

Probably not.

It’s interesting you can “know” his claim of working for NASA is “fiction” when it’s quite obvious it is not. I wonder how many other things you think you “know” that you will turn out to be utterly clueless about?

Let’s find out.

Next, you claim that it is also fiction that he ever “working [ed] with Sagan.” Again, you haven’t quite got the story straight, Dave. Let’s see what Carl has to say about the whole thing.

Sagan says in his paper “A Message from Earth,” by Carl Sagan, Linda Salzman Sagan and Frank Drake, that the idea for the Pioneer plaque came from Hoagland and Eric Burgess. In fact the exact quote is:

"... the initial suggestion to include some message aboard Pioneer 10 was made by Eric Burgess and Richard Hoagland ..."

Now, I suppose somebody as desperate (or ill informed) as you are Dave might try to argue that this somehow doesn’t constitute “working together,” but please. If the idea for one of Carl’s most significant accomplishments came from Hoagy, I think most reasonable people (this excludes expat and JimO) would beg to differ with you. And of course, Carl and Richard knew each other much better than that, having several conversations about Cydonia and the Face in various public forums, and they even spent time vacationing together on various science cruises in the 1970’s that were witnessed by hundreds of people.

And lest we forget, Carl saw fit to include a gratuitous money shot of Hoagland in his own Biography Channel Obit episode.

Now, as to the last part, that Richard never talked at Ames (meaning the NASA Ames Research Center in California), well, you’re sort of half right. He never did.

Of course, he’s never claimed he did, either. Ever. Anywhere. So no wonder you don’t think it’s true.

He did however speak at NASA-Lewis. That’s in Ohio, and it’s now called NASA-Glenn. Maybe you’ve heard of it?

It’s really hard for me to figure out how it can be “fiction” that he claimed he spoke at Ames, when he never made any such claim. But I realize you just work for NASA, and logic isn’t really a strong suit for you guys…

So that’s 3 for 3 that you have flat wrong Dave. It’s too bad that you then use your comedy of errors to justify hiding behind your desk instead of debating the issues.

“I would not want to stoop to ‘debate’ with him. My interests are in science, not pseudoscience.”

Translation: “He’s shredded waaaaay smarter guys than me on national TV before. I think I’ll just call him a name and then take my ball and run home. I don’t want to get anywhere near a substantive debate with this guy.”

Pretty smart move here Dave.

Really, Morrison displays the sort of institutional ignorance that permeates NASA at all levels. I could go on, but he’s not really worth my time. I shall pillory him no further.

I do have to say though, being called a “pseudoscientist” by a representative of a science agency that hasn’t noticed that Mars has obvious Tidal Bulges and continues to foist the junk science alarmist bilge of global arming on the public is pretty ripe. They even have to resort to falsifying the data to bolster their idiocy.

It would be kind of romantic to think that this was all part of some big conspiracy on NASA’s part to keep us out of the headlines, but that gives far too much credit to the likes of Morrison, IMO. I tend to think he’s just a garden variety useful idiot that parrots what he thinks he knows about us, while happily taking a salary from the most discredited government agency on the planet (and, given the state of our current government, that’s saying something).

Or, to paraphrase Ronaldus Maximus,

“It’s not that our NASA loving shills are ignorant, it’s just that they “know” so much that isn’t so.”

And yeah, I guess I did pillory him some more. But let’s face it, he was low hanging fruit…

MRO Confirms Mars Tidal Model

Recent findings by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter have confirmed a key argument made by Dark Mission co-authors Mike Bara and Richard C. Hoagland in chapter 10. In that chapter, we asserted that infrared images of Mars taken by the Mars Odyssey 2001 THEMIS instrument revealed the existence of vast ruins beneath the ground at Cydonia. These infrared images, downloaded and processed by MOC image processor Keith Laney, were controversial because Arizona State University’s THEMIS website, which posted the original source data, later surreptitiously substituted a highly degraded version of the same source data, making confirmation of the findings next to impossible.

At the time (September 2002), the working model was that the deeply buried ruins of Cydonia were encased in an enormous block of ice that was covered with a thin layer of “poof dust,” making the ground appear opaque. Severe criticisms were immediately forthcoming, primarily arguing on two major points. First, that the THEMIS IR instrument couldn’t penetrate thousands of feet below the surface to generate a return signal to the instrument, and second that there was no evidence other than our controversial images that such a layering of ice even existed.

Dr. Phillip Christensen of ASU, principal investigator on the THEMIS device, later put the first item to rest, stating in an interview that THEMIS has been more successful at penetrating the Martian surface than even he imagined. His claims of at least “a meter” of penetration for the thermal instruments jibes well with our model of a few inches (at best) of Martian “poof dust.”

But the key to our model would be the discovery at Cydonia of significant quantities of sub-surface ice. That is no longer a problem.

Two new papers produced from results of the MRO’s ground penetrating radar data confirm that vast glaciers cover much of the mid-latitude northern hemisphere of the planet, just as Dark Mission and our own Mars Tidal Model predict. Geologist Jeffrey J. Plaut of JPL, who will be publishing results about the ice deposits in the American Geophysical Union's Geophysical Research Letters, stated in an MRO press release that most of the ice is in two latitude bands stretching from about “35 to 60 degrees in both hemispheres.” This would neatly encompass the Cydonia region, which lies at 41 degrees north latitude.

And once the infrared signal from the THEMIS instrument on Mars Odyssey got past that thin layer of obscuring dust, there is no telling how deeply it could have penetrated through the transparent block of ice.

However, from the pictures, a safe conclusion would be all the way to main street.

Dr. Tom Van Flandern 1940-2009

I learned in a phone call tonight from Richard that Dr. Tom Van Flandern has passed away in Washington state.

As far as I'm concerned, he is a truly remarkable man and true scientist in every sense of the word. I will have more on this in a few days. An obituary is here.

My condolences to his friends, family and colleagues. He will be sorely missed.

NASA Announcement of Mars Life Coming Soon?

A new article on one of my least favorite web sites, SpaceRef.com, indicates that a new NASA announcement concerning the search for life on Mars will be made in the next couple of days. Speculation centers around the possibility that previous methane findings are most likely caused by biological, rather than abiotic sources. We of course told you this years ago.

NASA has known there is life on Mars since 1976. They have even suppressed proof of past life on Mars. We wish they would just get on with it.

As always with NASA, we remain skeptical. This would seem to be the long rumored news that the two presidential campaigns were briefed on in August, but who knows?

The Return of the Big O

As some of you may have noticed, James Oberg is at it again. I thought I would create yet another new thread to chronicle the latest. It all started up again with this recent post from him:

"Too bad you didn't swing past Belen to ask Ken Johnston for any documentation he ever was a pilot, as your book insists. But that might have been a waste of time.I have now obtained a copy of his official military records, via FOIA. But it's not for purposes of ambush or embarrassment, it's for truth. So let's be civil.Answer me again: Was Johnston EVER a pilot in the military? Did he ever receive any aircraft ratings?Your book says he was. Do you care to show maturity by changing your assessments in light of new evidence?"

Jim,

I have no reason to ask Ken if he was “ever a pilot, as [my] book insists,” because I know for a fact he was. During his training, he flew T-37’s, T-28’s, T-2J’s, DC-3’s and F-4 Phantom’s. I also know that as a civilian he flew Piper Colts, Cessna 150’s, 172’s, Grumman single engine planes, Piper twin Aztec's and logged hundreds of hours on the Boeing 727, 757, 767, and 747 simulators.
Oh, and he also logged over 3,000 hours in the Lunar Module and the LM simulators, where he taught all of the Apollo astronauts to fly the LM. I'm not sure why NASA would hire him as a flight instructor if he was never "a pilot, as [my] book insists,” but I'll leave it to you to work out the logical contortions of that one.

I notice you aren’t really interested in "the truth" about that…

Nor do you seem interested in the “the truth” about multiple versions of NASA frame 4822, for instance. Or why so many demonstrably different versions of this image exist all. Or why NASA would put what actually appear to be different photos under the same frame number, which just happens to be blacked out in the Apollo catalog.

Nor do you seem interested in telling our readers “the truth” about how long you’ve known Ken, or how many times you’ve contacted him in the past. I mean, we know you have his private email. If you have questions about his record, why don’t you just send him (another) email instead of wasting taxpayer money on an FOIA request?

Try looking in your “Survivor MIR” folder…

Now, if you think something in my book has been mischaracterized or is inaccurate on page 144, then by all means make your case and show me your evidence and I’ll be glad to make a change in the revised edition. I’ve already sat down with the Scientologists and have agreed to make some changes in what I said about L. Ron Hubbard’s time hanging out with Jack Parsons and the JPL crowd. I afford you the same privilege.

But I’m left wondering just what it is about Ken and his story that is so threatening to you and your NASA masters. Could it be that what Ken was ordered to do by his superiors was not just wrong, but illegal? Is that what’s got you so determined to attack Ken, instead of simply making your case to have me correct an error that I might possibly have made?

Just curious.

NASA Says "Lethal Trauma" Killed Columbia Astronauts - Duh

A new report issued by NASA just before the New Year reveals that the Columbia astronauts died from either a depressurization of the main cabin or a lethal trauma caused by being tossed around the cabin during Columbia's chaotic descent and break-up nearly 7 years ago. The report really just confirms the obvious, and seems to have been released mainly for public relations purposes ahead of the new Orion space capsule. NASA seems focused on letting the public know that lessons have been learned from the Columbia disaster, and that future vehicles will be safer.

A piece of "environmentally friendly" foam breaking off the external fuel tank and striking the leading edge of the shuttle's left wing is the suspected cause of the destruction of Columbia during re-entry.

Still not officially addressed or explained is the mysterious purple streak photographed by an anonymous astronomer (or astronomy buff) as the spacecraft re-entered over California.

NASA Bristles as Obama Transition Team Asks Tough Questions

An Orlando Sentinel article just released makes it clear that tensions are running high between NASA Director Mike Griffin and Obama transition team leader Lori Garver, with the defensive Griffin going so far as to accuse Garver as being “unqualified” to lead the Obama team.

According to the Sentinel, the issues arose when Garver and her team members began to question the wisdom of the overall Constellation program for returning to the Moon and then going to Mars. More specifically, Griffin got testy when the question of NASA’s new and hopelessly flawed Ares 1 rocket came up. As most readers of our blog know, the Direct 2.0 alternative, proposed by a consortium of industry engineers and ex-NASA managers, is a much cheaper and more proven concept, and pretty much superior in every way to Ares 1. Griffin is portrayed as a staunch advocate of Ares 1, and he’s apparently trying to defend the underpowered and overpriced program from budget cuts in the incoming administration.

While it’s unlikely Constellation will be scrapped in its entirety, the Obama administration can be expected to behave pretty much as all liberal administrations do; they will suppress dissent, slash defense and space budgets, and instigate new social dependencies in an attempt to consolidate power. Looking at the underperforming Ares 1 and the viable alternative of Direct II, it would seem to be an easy target for the incoming Obama team.

But one wonders if there isn’t something more to this than simply the politics of left and right. Griffin’s resistance doesn’t make a whole lot of sense politically. He seems to be overacting to the inquiries of the Obama team at a time when he should be looking to smooth things over and keep the broader Constellation program going. It’s almost as if there is something bigger and potentially much darker that he’s trying to protect. Why would he be so threatened by a simple accounting of the state of NASA’s biggest current space imitative? Unless perhaps he’s worried that the Obama team may find the real, occult agenda behind the Constellation program…

As Garver was overheard to say to Griffin, “Mike, I don’t understand what the problem is. We are just trying to look under the hood.”

Given what we all know is “under the hood,” maybe that in itself is the real problem.

UPDATE: Richard made an interesting observation in a recent phone call. His take is that Griffin is causing all this strife because he needs a direct meeting with Obama in order to tell him privately what he can't let Garver find under the hood.

My Visit to the Church of Scientology

I had the pleasure of visiting the L. Ron Hubbard Life Exhibition of the Church of Scientology this past weekend. I was invited there in April after attending the LA Book Expo by Luc Dubios, a member of the Church and one of their representatives at the Expo. He and I had a frank discussion of the role of L. Ron Hubbard during the period he was hanging out with Jack Parsons of JPL in Pasadena, California. After I suggested he read Dark Mission, Luc wrote me and told me that he felt that Dark Mission could be more accurate in its presentation of the events of the so-called Babylon Working and Hubbard’s role in it. After many months of back and forth, I was finally able to clear my schedule and find the time to drive down to the L. Ron Hubbard museum and Life Exhibition on Hollywood and Ivar in Los Angeles.

Luc was very generous and gave me and my guest a personal tour of the facility, its exhibitions and the various instruments and techniques used in the practice of their religion. I found it all quite fascinating, and frankly I learned a great many things about Mr. Hubbard that I had not previously known. No matter what your opinion of Scientology or Hubbard, there can be no doubt that he was an incredibly prolific, travelled and learned man, who dedicated his life towards many causes that still improve the lives of people today, 20 years after his death. Honestly, I think (my opinion, not the church’s) that he was probably the inspiration for the character of Indiana Jones, if not others, and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

After that, we retired to the offices of Lynn Farney, the Public Affairs Information Officer for the Church, and we went over the issues they had with Dark Mission in great detail. I was shown documents which changed my perspective on Hubbard and his role in the Working to a significant degree.

I’ll be talking about this in more detail in the revised Dark Mission, but suffice it to say that I am now even more intrigued about the Secret History of NASA, and Hubbard and Parson’s role in it.

Faked Data on Global Warming Exposed - NASA Lies Again

If you’ve read Dark Mission, it should come as no surprise to you that NASA lies. However, there is still a sizable portion of the populace that clings to the idea that NASA is somehow exempt from even the notion that it would withhold the truth about anything. As I stated in my essay in Secret and Suppressed II, pointing out NASA’s mendacities makes you about as popular with the press as crosses are with vampires.

Still, there are plenty of examples from the past, and now, yet another example from the present. Monday, NASA announced through the Goddard Institute for Space Studies that last month was the hottest October on record. This flew in the face of the empirical evidence, which suggested that cold, rain and snow were actually a bit more common than usual for October.

Fortunately, a couple of climate watchdog blogs, Watts Up With That and Climate Audit (who both helped debunk Al Gore’s infamous “hockey stick” climate fraud), sifted through the data and discovered that the reason for the incongruity was that NASA had taken temperature readings from Russia from September, and simply copied and pasted the same figures into the October sample. Once the “blunder” was exposed, NASA hurriedly revised its figures, only to suddenly discover a new “hotspot” in the Arctic which once again pushed the temps into the record range. The only problem? Arctic ice is currently growing so fast in the Arctic that it is now 30 percent ahead of last year.

Ooops.

The fact these temperature readings are coming from GISS, one of four bodies responsible for monitoring global temperatures and certainly the most influential and most pessimistic, should alarm us all. The UN uses figures from the GISS primarily to justify its attempts to regulate and enforce controls over the economies of developed nations, like the US. Using the myth that man made “global warming” is causing calamitous climate change as its justification, the UN is trying to force nations like the United States surrender national sovereignty and place draconian restrictions on major industries to “combat” what is obviously a non-existent problem. The GISS is run by Al Gore's chief scientific collaborator, Dr James Hansen, who has been a major global warming alarmist since the late 1980’s. He's also the nutbag that recently called for CEO's of oil companies to be put on trial for "high crimes against humanity and nature." Hansen, who despite giving more than 1,500 media interviews in the last 8 years, continues to insist that the Bush administration is “muzzling” him, must be held responsible for this fraud. It is patently obvious that Hansen has deliberately cooked the books, to use a bad metaphor, and given the policy influence his office has, he should be fired immediately. Since this is not the first time that Hansen’s (cough) methodology has been called into question, it’s time for him to go. He is obviously not a scientist with any sense of integrity, but rather a political activist who has misused his position of authority to further a personal agenda.

It has by now been conclusively shown that human industrial activity has no influence whatsoever on global temperatures, and that in fact global temps are dictated almost one to one purely by the waxing and waning energy output of the sun. The flowing graph succinctly illustrates this:

Furthermore, global temperatures have been dropping in the last few years, while the concentration of Co2, the most commonly cited “greenhouse gas,” has been increasing. This has also lead to a measureable increase in plant growth, which is a good thing.

With a new administration coming into Washington that is certain to try and impose the economically ruinous Kyoto protocol on us, Bush could leave a lasting legacy by firing Hansen, disbanding the GISS and declaring it to be an unethical and hopelessly politicized agency that serves no useful purpose.

So once again we see that with NASA, the Lie is Different at Every Level, and the lies go on.

Saturn's Bright New Auroral Ring

A new Cassini infrared image of the North Polar cap of Saturn has revealed something of a surprise -- an intense auroral field generated by the unique physics operating on that planet.

If you have followed this blog or read Dark Mission, you know that Saturn holds a special place in the Hyperdimensional Physics model first proposed by Dark Mission co-author Richard C. Hoagland and Erol Torun. With its unique and bizarre (by conventional models) hexagonal polar ring, Saturn fulfills a specific prediction of the tetrahedrally based topological math that underlies that theory. As Hoagland first described at his 1992 UN briefing, according to topologists like HSM Coxeter, any hyperdimensional system (a spinning system drawing energy from the Aether, or higher spatial dimensions) should have a tetrahedral outwelling signature at 19.5 degrees, and a corresponding "inwelling" feature that is driven to be hexagonal. Saturn of course, with its otherwise inexplicable hexagonal cloud pattern, fits this description perfectly.

It is interesting to note that the newly discovered aurora not only doesn't fit any conventional model for how such magnetic effects are generated (Tom Stallard, an RCUK Academic Fellow working with Cassini data at the University of Leicester, called it a "fantastic surprise"), but it also corresponds closely to the hexagonal cloud form just below it. Just exactly how this aurora is being generated and how it fits the HyperD model isn't clear just yet, but I find the correlation to be compelling. I trust that we will also eventually discern the mechanism, and I'll update readers when that occurs.

Will Phoenix Rise From the Ashes?

Word came down yesterday that NASA's Mars Phoenix Lander has ceased operations and is now considered officially shut down by NASA\JPL. The end of Phoenix' life was not unanticipated, since it was always going to be a relatively short duration mission due to the harsh weather conditions at the landing site near NASA's North polar cap.

Along the way, Phoenix not only took some 25,000 images of the featureless plain upon which it landed, it also pushed the Brookings "time release aspirin" ball a little further up the field, at least in terms of playing footsie with the idea that Mars harbors life. The most significant discovery of the mission was that water ice exists just beneath the surface of the Red Planet. Readers of Dark Mission will of course be well aware that not only ice, but liquid water exists on the surface of Mars, as does microbial life. The findings of Phoenix are quite unremarkable to us, but pretty spectacular by NASA's standards.

What we find far more fascinating is the symbolism connected with this mission. A Phoenix is, naturally, a bird of Egyptian legend that rises magically from the ashes of its own destruction. Again, readers of Dark Mission will be well aware of the significance of yet another NASA mission steeped in Egyptian mythology. By finding and confirming the source of all life, water, Phoenix signaled symbolically the Resurrection of Mars as an abode of life. But we don't expect the death\resurrection symbolism to stop there.

When the lander parachuted into its eventual landing site (captured in an amazing image from Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter) it did so according to the Masonic\Egyptian ritual pattern we have all become so familiar with.

Finding Orion's Belt Star Mintaka on the horizon (an Egyptian symbol of resurrection) was no great surprise. But if the Phoenix symbolism is to be taken to its full extension, then we can expect that the death of the Mars Phoenix Lander has been greatly exaggerated. Time will tell, but we fully expect that Phoenix will be heard from again. After all, science is "nothing, if not prediction," as Richard likes to say.

We'll keep our eyes (and NASA's ears) peeled for any sign that Phoenix has risen from the ashes.

NASA Admits Current Ideas About Mars Moons "Unlikely"

A recent essay by NASA's chief historian Steven J. Dick reveals that even within NASA, there is substantive disagreement about the origin of Phobos and Deimos, Mars' only moons:

"a great deal remains unknown about the moons of Mars, including even their basic composition and their origin. The attendees at the First International Conference on the Exploration on Phobos and Deimos discussed what was known, what was unknown, and how to find out more. Most continue to believe the moons are captured asteroids, but the capture mechanism is unknown and the scenarios unlikely."

Under the Moons of Mars

Lunar and Planetary Institute, First International Conference on the Exploration of Phobos and Deimos, Nov. 5-7, 2007

Hot on the heels of my post last month about a new extrasolar planet that had been photographed at an extraordinary 330 AU from its parent star, Space.com posted a new story that purports to explain why such planets are so hot. The article discusses the phenomenon of so-called “hot Jupiters,” gas giant planets that are generally found very close to their parent stars. Since this condition is a de-facto repudiation of the accretion model of planetary formation, scientists are becoming desperate to explain how the most massive planet’s can form so close to their parent stars and why they are so hot.

In the new model, proposed by Adam Showman of the University of Arizona, these Hot Jupiters are somehow tidally locked close to their parent stars, and heat from the star is transferred to the cool backside of planet through a complex series of winds and weather patterns, giving the planet a basically uniform temperature.

This idea is all well and good, but it is not based on actual observational evidence. Instead, this is simply an attempt to explain a contradictory observation within the established model, by building a computer simulation to demonstrate the idea. Obviously, if you build enough bias into the inputs, you can make the outcome anything you want.

Mainstream scientists and debunkers are fond of citing Occam’s Razor, the idea that all things being equal, the simplest explanation is the most likely one. Of course, rarely in the examples they cite are “all things equal,” and this is another case in point. One idea, the fission model which we discussed in the previous post, matches all observational phenomena relating to extra-solar planets. The other idea, the planetary accretion model, does not and requires multiple square pegs to be jammed into multiple round holes to even begin to reasonably reflect the observations. What is more likely under Occam’s Razor then, that these giant Hot Jupiters randomly formed so close to their parent stars and rely on a complex and highly unlikely chain of unproven assumptions to maintain their uniform (and uniformly hot) temperatures, or that the accretion model is simply wrong? Obviously, the simpler explanation is that these Hot Jupiters are fissioned off of their parent stars, just as the fission model suggests and are in the process of receding from them as we speak. Their hot temperatures are explained by the fact that they are made up of ejected stellar material, which would take many millions of years (most likely) to cool.

Not to mention, Occam’s Razor isn’t a scientific axiom anyway, it’s a T-shirt slogan.

Mars Express Close Encounter With Phobos

Hot on the heels of the Enterprise Mission’s publication of a new article addressing the probable artificial origin of asteroid 2867 Steins, the European Space Agency has released startling new images of Phobos, one of Mars’ two “moons.” While the characterization of Phobos as “moon” at all (it’s obviously simply an asteroid somehow captured or held by Mars’ gravitational field) is problematic, it’s not nearly as problematic as characterizing it as a natural object. Phobos is generally considered similar to the carbonaceous C-Class asteroids because of its surface albedo characteristics, but a new analysis of Phobos’ composition revealed something of a surprise; Phobos is basically hollow.

By simply measuring the gravitational influence of Phobos on the Mars Express spacecraft itself (which is a function of Phobos’ shape and density), ESA was able to determine that Phobos is incredibly light, about 1 billionth the mass of Earth, and has a much lower density (1.85 grams per cubic centimeter) than Martian surface rocks (.7-3.3 grams per cubic centimeter). Theoretically, this places Phobos more correctly in the D-Class category of asteroids, which are believed to be highly fractured and cavernous. One explanation for this is that Phobos (and perhaps its sister moon, Deimos) might be a “rubble pile,” essentially a bunch of big chunks that crashed into each other that are held together by gravity. According to this idea, Phobos was formed from material somehow ejected from Mars itself eons ago that somehow assembled themselves into a coherent body. However, there is no suitable explanation for how such a “rubble pile” could manage to find itself in a near perfect equatorial orbit around Mars, a condition that is highly unlikely to have occurred just by chance, to say the least. Given that its composition and density is so different from Mars’ own, it seems more likely that Phobos came from somewhere else, perhaps somewhere in the nearby asteroid field that lies between Mars and Jupiter. The only issue that remains is the question of whether this placement is a natural condition – again, highly unlikely – or whether it was placed there in the distant past by some unseen and unknown force.

Fortunately, Mars Express carries an on board radar called MARSIS which took measurements of the moon’s interior. That data should probably settle the issue of whether Phobos is a natural object or not, or at least whether it has been modified internally by an artificial force of some kind. Sadly, the ESA article does not say when the MARSIS data might be released.

There is however one last scenario under which Phobos might turn out to be a natural object, albeit one that resides in an impossibly perfect equatorial orbit. According to Dr. Tom van Flandern’s exploded planet hypothesis, all the remnant chunks of an exploded planet (like his theorized Planet V in the orbit between Mars and Jupiter) would be expected to have orbiting companions for at least a significant portion of their lifetimes. True to form, Phobos in close up shows the tell tale-signs of just such a post explosion condition; it is criss-crossed with dozens of race track signatures which indicate orbiting companions which have spiraled into the mother body (Phobos). As van Flandern has pointed out, these types of race track patterns are a sure sign of orbiting companions.

So the question at hand now is just what is Phobos? A remnant of the protoplanetary disk that formed the Solar System (not likely)? A captured Jupiter Trojan that somehow drifted into a perfectly equatorial orbit over Mars (even less likely)? Or, is it neither of those, but instead a shattered survivor of the cataclysm that devastated Mars, towed into this bizarrely non-random orbit by the survivors of the Martian Apocalypse and then mined by them, or simply drilled out to make an orbiting, artificial habitat? The MARSIS data should tell us that, if only we get the real stuff. Time will tell if we do.

Space.com Story on Saturn's Hyperdimensional Hexagon

Well, the Space.com folks have posted a new story on the polar storms on Saturn, showing new Cassini images of the planet. They once again mention - as they should - the bizarre hexagonal cloud pattern that encloses the storms in the north polar region. It's important to keep in mind that there is nothing, absolutely nothing, in conventional planetary physics or fluid mechanics which can account for this phenomenon. It is however an inherent and specific prediction of the Hoagland\Torun Hyperdimensional physics model.

Once again, HDP stands alone as the only predictive and coherent model which can explain a specific physical observation. It will be interesting if the main streamers try to come up with an explanation for this one. In all the years since Voyager, no one has attempted it yet, but it may be time soon. After all, you can only ignore the elephant in the living room for so long.

Spectacular New Images of Mercury From the Messenger Spacecraft

NASA's Messenger spacecraft yesterday returned stunning new images of the planet Mercury, really showing parts of the Sun's nearest neighbor in close-up for the first time. The views show a rocky terrestrial satellite that bears a strong resemblance to our own Moon. In fact, I'm struck just how much it looks like the Moon's far side, minus the occasional Maria blotch.

Still, as Jim Oberg pointed out earlier, there are some interesting things to see on the images. I'm always fascinated by the fact that some craters look so bright in these images. What are they, glass craters?

I also love the radial spoke pattern in some of the images. I can't help but have a sense of awe and mystery when I look at another world for the first time. I wonder what mysteries we'd uncover if we went there ourselves?

The 2008 Bay Area UFO Expo – San Francisco

Late Thursday night (the 26th of September), I was sitting around contemplating my plans for the weekend when I got an email from Victoria Jack, who runs the Bay Area UFO Expo and has for 10 years now. For those of you who don't know, the BAUFOE is pretty much the biggest of its kind, at least in this country, and it always has a stellar line up of the top names in UFOlogy. This year was no exception, with the likes of Whitley Streiber, Jordan Maxwell, Robert O. Dean, David Icke, Jose Escamilla, Dr. Roger Leir, Sean David Morton and a whole host of others scheduled to be in attendance. I was surprised to find that the email asked if I was available to fill a lecture spot on Saturday morning, and even though it meant taking the Friday off of my day job (oh the pain, the pain) I readily accepted. I threw together some clothes, slapped a presentation together and headed up the road to Frisco.

I can't say enough about everyone I saw there. Contrary to what I have heard over the years, I have found the "UFO community" to be extremely welcoming and open to me in my visits to these events. I met David Icke at the Friday meet and greet, and then rekindled acquaintances with Dr. Leir, Jose, Paola Harris, and a whole host of others. I got up Saturday and hit my lecture right on time, following the excellent presentation by Dr. John Alexander. Like him, I had video issues ($%&*!!! Vista!) and after getting a late start, I managed to get through all my 100 or so slides in the allotted 45 minutes. I was gratified by the reaction of the audience but frustrated with the limitations of the equipment. I learned that some things are just too subtle for the standard 1024x768 projector to handle.

After that, it was time to relax and I spent some time listening to Jordan, who I just love. And then I went to see Robert O. Dean. I had met Mr. Dean earlier in the day, and I was overwhelmed by his kindness, generosity and graciousness. I honestly don't remember ever meeting a more polite, friendly and engaging man, and I was flattered beyond belief that he had read Dark Mission and not only enjoyed it, but bought copies for several acquaintances that work at the Pentagon. Later, in both his lecture and his workshop, he made special effort to acknowledge me, Richard and Dark Mission, and I was very humbled and grateful for it. Between he and Jordan, who is always so much nicer to me than he ever needs to be, I feel like I am under the wing of 2 Jedi Masters or something. It's not like Richard is chopped liver or anything, but to be blessed by Jordan and acknowledged by Bob Dean feels like way more praise than I ever deserve. I consider all three men to be true giants amongst us, and they've made me feel as though I belonged with them at their side.

I'm not worthy!

The more I listen to Mr. Dean, who has struggled and suffered for what he has told the world, the more impressed I am by the man. It is such a pleasure to hear from someone who has truly glimpsed the future, and feels so optimistic about our place in it. The UFO culture can be a dark and pessimistic place at times, so Bob Dean is a breath of fresh air in more ways than one.

After that I headed to Gorge Noory's meet and greet, and once again I was flattered when he spotted me and acknowledged me to the crowd. He is another nice and generous man. It was too bad he and TD (touchdown Tommy Danheiser) couldn't stay, but they had to catch a plane to St. Louis to get George's studio in order after Hurricane Ike (not Icke). Tom and I exchanged a quick hello and he is so helpful and supportive to George. It's really cool to watch.

Saturday night was the big banquet, and I had a table with my name on it and a few people actually sat with me just to talk about Dark Mission. The drinks were strong, Sean David Morton was hysterical as the after dinner entertainment, and the food was excellent. I ended up in the bar (as usual) with Jose, Sean, Jordan, and some new friends over the course of the evening. Jordan held court in the lobby until the wee hours of the morning, and I staggered off to bed happy drunk and truly overwhelmed at how nice everyone is to me.

Sunday I did an interview with Regina Meredith of the Conscious Media Network and went to Paola Harris' workshop. She's as sweet as they come and a very sharp researcher. I also had a chance to catch up with Jordan as well as Tim Crawford. I also had a chance to conspire with several big names about a special project for Richard's next birthday (heh heh heh). I came back from my interview in the lobby to see various people pointing up to the sky, which could only mean one thing: "They" were making an appearance. I ran into Jordan and he told me to go check it out, so Victoria and I both went out to see what was going on. Of course, Whitley's friends had left by the time I got there. Maybe someday I'll see a UFO.

I was sorely tempted to stick around one more night for the speakers' party, but duty and my day job as a card carrying member of the Military Industrial Complex called, so I hit the road about 3 PM and got home to a very unhappy tuxedo kitty.

I had a fantastic weekend and now I'm looking forward to David Icke this week in LA. I assume it's going to rock as much as the rest of my life has been lately. Extrasolar Planet Image Boosts Fission Model of Planetary Formation

As you may know, an image of the first confirmed extrasolar planet ever photographed was released on Monday of this week. Unlike previously photographed Exoplanets, this one appears to have a mass less than the 13 Jupiter masses which is the accepted limit for planetary designation. At only 8 Jupiter masses, the new planet is well under the mass that would place it in the Brown Dwarf category. Although the newly discovered planet is the right size to be a Brown Dwarf, this low mass implies that it is not.

University of Toronto researchers managed to snap a near infrared image of the gas giant planet orbiting more than 330 AU's from its parent star, 1RXS J160929.1-210524. Both objects are about 500 light years away.

This incredible orbital distance, which calculates to an orbit of some 6,000 years, is a direct contradiction to the accretion theory of planetary formation. The star itself is thought to be only about 5 million years old, the blink of eye in astrophysical terms, and the mere presence of the gas giant world creates all sorts of problems for the conventional model.

According to current theories, planets form from the remnants of stellar nebula's in so-called proto-planatary disks. However, according to current understanding of this theory, large gaseous planets (or planets of any kind) cannot form at this distance from stars because there is unlikely to be sufficient rocky material to form a mass large enough to collapse into a planet. Instead, scientists are now scrambling to explain how such a young, hot companion could have found itself so far from its parent star, and apparently in a stable orbit. The current theory du-jour is that it was somehow magically flung away from the star by an encounter with another star or due to collisions within the accretion disk. Unfortunately, there is no observational evidence or computer modeling to support this assertion. A better explanation is that the planetary accretion model is simply wrong.

Fortunately for the truly curious, there is a second competing theory of planetary formation that is supported by all of the existing observational evidence – including the discovery of the gas giant 330 AU from 1RXS J160929.1-210524. Some scientists, like Dr. Tom van Flandern, have long argued for the solar fission model of planetary formation.

In the fission model, once the rapidly coalescing solar nebula collapses and achieves sufficient density to begin nuclear fusion, it soon begins spinning so fast that the centrifugal forces become stronger than the gravitational field of the star, and solar material is flung out from the equatorial region of the young star. This material then spirals outward in twin pairs, forming first gas giant planets and then later terrestrial or rocky planets as the star’s angular momentum dissipates. This theory, unlike the solar accretion theory, neatly fits most, if not all, planetary observational data.

The solar fission theory would explain why all the planets are in the so-called plane of the ecliptic, why the planets hold 98% of the total solar system angular momentum but just a fraction (0.002) of the mass, why all of the planets have prograde orbits (matching the prograde spin of the sun), why other extrasolar gas giants seem to have formed so close to their parent stars, and why the planets in our own solar system seem to have formed in relatively similar pairs (Earth and Venus, Mercury and the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn, Uranus and Neptune).

There are naturally objections to the twin pair concept, notably that there is as yet little evidence that Mercury was once a moon of Venus, and that Jupiter is more massive than Saturn (in the twin pairs model it should be the other way around), and that Mars does not fit this model at all. However, in the Exploded Planet Hypothesis, all of this is easily explained, and not by some fairy-tale, move-the-goalposts band aid, but by actual observational evidence.

Our own Mars Tidal Model proves, with one simple correlative observation, that Mars has tidal bulges. The mere existence of these tidal bulges where none should exist is De facto proof that Mars is not a planet at all, but rather a moon of a much larger planet (designated “Planet V” in the EPH) that once existed near the orbit that Mars now occupies. It also implies - if the solar fission model is correct - that there is a missing “twin” of Planet V somewhere out there in the solar system.

OK, so where is it?

The EPH also builds on the idea of the old Titius-Bode law of planetary spacing. Roughly stated, TB says that each successive planet is about twice as far from the sun as the previous planet. Using the following chart, this all works out pretty well for the most part:

As you can see, until we get to Neptune, the TB Rule works almost perfectly. Only at the far reaches of the Solar system do we begin to see significant deviation. The following chart illustrates the point succinctly:

The only exceptions here are Ceres, which is not a planet but rather a prominent body in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, and Neptune, which seems pretty far out of the margin we would expect if TB was correct. Neptune is dealt with in van Flandern’s book Dark Matter, Missing Planets and New Comets, so we won’t get into that here. The main point is that according to the EPH, there are at least two missing planets in our solar system, Planet V, the parent planet of Mars, and Planet K, which once existed in the orbit now occupied by the asteroid belt. They would most likely have been terrestrial pairs, similar to Earth and Venus but with much larger masses and planetary radii.

So the asteroid belt turns out to be where Planet K once roamed, accounting for the multitude of bodies in that rocky ring of planetesimals. The EPH also explains one other enduring mystery of the solar system – why Mars and Mercury have the two most eccentric orbits of all the “planets.”

If, as the EPH postulates, Mars was once a moon of Planet V and Mercury a moon of Venus, then it would stand to reason that they, having been recently ejected some 65 MYA, would have non-circular or “eccentric” orbits. This is in fact exactly what we see. Mercury (0.206) and Mars (0.093) have by far the most elliptical orbits of any of the major planetary bodies.

So what does all this have to do with the newly discovered gas giant around 1RXS J160929.1-210524? Well, it seems obvious that we are seeing, in near real time, the birth of a new planet in accordance with the fission model. It has been ejected from its parent star a relatively short time ago, and is already some 330 AU from its birth place. Not only does this tell us that planets can exist that far from a parent star (which greatly increases the likelihood that a Planet X exists in our own solar system), but it also explains how massive gas giants can be found so close to their parent stars, as has been observed in some other cases. It’s obvious that these close-in gassy planets have only been recently excreted from their parent stars.

It should be a fairly easy task to calculate its rate of recession from 1RXS J160929.1-210524 (let’s just call it 1RXS from now on, shall we?) - if it is receding at all - and determine (based on its luminosity) how long it has been traveling away from 1RXS. That will give us a timetable for about how long it should take a star of similar mass and composition to start spitting out planets and give us a fighting chance of training our cameras on another candidate star and perhaps catch it in the act of spewing out its first planet.

And wouldn’t that be a picture?

I couldn't believe it when I saw it, the first real proof that there are other worlds orbiting distant stars. There are tons of implications of this discovery, but for the moment, I just want to sit back and wonder at something I never thought I would ever see.

Quick Blogging Update

You guys may have noticed that the pace has slowed here in the last few weeks. There are several reasons for this, most notably that I am spending more time on my NFL Football Blog and a new political Blog that I felt compelled to start. I'll be posting to that one with some frequency, at least through the election cycle. I'm also working on the last 5,000 words for a new book I'm doing solo, and then I have some more writing to do for another project with Richard. These have hard deadlines of October 1st and November 1st respectively, and I have a few other projects which deserve my attention as well. And there is always my day job as a card carrying member of the military industrial complex.

The point is, I'm going to back off the Dark Mission Blog for a while. I am by no means abandoning this blog, I'm just going to be adding new stuff with less frequency until I can clear some other items from my to do list. There are a couple of upcoming posts, including another research paper documenting a Hyperdimensional physics effect, and some thoughts on the rumor that NASA may be preparing to release "proof" of life on Mars. These will likely appear next week at some point, and as always I'm ready to post on any breaking news.

I just wanted to let you guys know what was going on.

"Dr. Chandra" Says William Shatner Was Right...

Astrobiologist Chandra Wickramasinghe, who was the inspiration for a character in Arthur C. Clarke's "2010 - Odyssey Two," has stated in a recent interview that not only is there "contemporary life" on Mars, but he asserts that NASA is withholding the information for political reasons. He also defends the work of Dr. Gil Levin on the original Viking Labeled Release Experiment, which came back positive for life signs in 1976. NASA has subsequently consistently denied that Levin's results were legitimate, and has taken every opportunity in the ensuing decades to minimize his results.

All of this will of course be familiar to readers of Dark Mission, which lays out virtually the same case in its heavily footnoted 550 pages. The only significant area of disagreement between our premise and Dr. Wickramasinghe’s assessment is that he still clings to the “honest but stupid” model of NASA’s behavior, as opposed to our contention that NASA is operating on a “timed release aspirin” model dictated by the recommendations of the Brookings Report.

New Research Reinforces Key Aspects of Hyperdimensional Physics

A new paper by a pair of Australian astronomers has provided a flat-out, indisputable confirmation of the Hoagland\Torun Hyperdimensional Physics model first proposed in their 1989 paper, “The Message of Cydonia.” The new paper, titled “Does a Spin–Orbit Coupling Between the Sun and the Jovian Planets Govern the Solar Cycle?” points out a resonant, synchronized relationship between the Sun’s periodic peak sunspot cycles and the orbital positions of the Jovian planets, Jupiter and Saturn. Careful readers of Dark Mission will note that this exact relationship is both implicitly and explicitly predicted in Chapter 2 of our book.

While the mechanical cause of the increased sunspot activity is reasonably well understood (it’s caused by the sun’s rotation), the driving force linking this spin and the sunspot cycle has remained a mystery. According to Dr. Ian Wilson of the University of Southern Queensland, which published the new research, observations by solar astronomers have concluded that the equatorial regions of the sun rotate slightly more rapidly than the polar regions. This differential rotation winds up the sun’s magnetic field lines (which stretch between the two poles) like a set of rubber bands. Eventually, the field lines work their way to the surface of the sun because the concentrated magnetic flux is more buoyant than the surrounding solar surface. This subsequently causes sunspots, solar flares and coronal mass ejections, which tend to cluster around the tetrahedral 19.5° latitude at the peak of this cycle. This peak is called “solar maximum” because all the visible spots, flares, etc. are most numerous at this time, after which the magnetic poles reverse and the cycle begins again.

There has historically been a recognized connection between the frequency of sunspot activity (the total number of spots) and the movement of the sun in relation to solar system's “barycentre,” or center of mass. This is driven primarily by the combined gravitational forces of Jupiter and Saturn, and to a far lesser extent, the other planets. But the big problem is that there is no conventional explanation for exactly how this influence occurs.

"There are really only two possible interactions, and neither of them is feasible," Dr. Wilson said in an interview. "Tidal forces are too tiny. They can only produce a movement of about a millimeter on the surface of the sun.

"The alternative, that the sun's motion about the centre of mass should be able to generate internal motions within the sun, violates Einstein's equivalence principle [emphasis added]"

What separates this new research from previous interpretations is the observation that the relative positions of Jupiter and Saturn somehow affect this cyclical energy variation. To quote from an article about Wilson et al’s paper appearing on the Australian ABC science website:

“The authors believe the tiny gravitational tugs of Jupiter and Saturn speed up or slow down the sun's orbital motion about the centre-of-mass, when they are aligned or separated by an angular distance of 90 degrees.

“They say that when the sun's orbital motion changes, so too does its equatorial rotation rate, which provides strong circumstantial evidence that there is a spin-orbit coupling mechanism operating between Jupiter and Saturn and the sun.
“The authors propose that this spin-orbit coupling takes the form of a 9:8 resonance, with the 179 year alignment cycle of the Jovian planets being equal to nine alignments of Jupiter and Saturn and eight 22-year Hale cycles.

“The extent to which Jupiter and Saturn affect the sun's motion may impact on the strength of sunspot activity throughout its solar cycle.

But Wilson is cautious.

"’It is one thing to show an association and quite another to show cause and effect. We have to be very careful, but we will know in a few years,"

Of course, the reality is that as long as solar astronomers keep searching for a conventional “gravitational” effect for this resonance synchronization, they will never fully understand what is causing the differential rotation and the consequent variable excess energy from the sun. In the conventional view, it is mass, and therefore gravity, which is the only viable influence on solar energy output and motion.

But in the Hyperdimensional Physics model, “the tail wags the dog” -- in the form of angular momentum.

It is an undeniable fact that Jupiter and Saturn -- which possess only a tiny fraction the solar system’s total mass compared to the sun – are, in fact, a huge influence on the sun itself (and all of the other planets as a consequence). This is because they conversely possess most (almost 99%) of the solar system’s total bulk angular momentum.

In the Hyperdimensional model, it is this angular momentum -- mainly from these two massive planets, transmitted through the “Hyperdimensional aether” -- which ultimately causes the sun’s differential rotation.

To quote directly from Dark Mission, Chapter 2:

“Changes in one gravitationally-connected system on a large scale, like the planetary scale of a solar system, can therefore have an instantaneous, measurable effect on other bodies in the same system -- providing there is a "resonance condition" (a matched connection) between those two objects via hyperspace. Thus, the Hyperdimensional Model argues that everything, even widely separated three-space objects like remote planets, are ultimately connected through this four-space interaction; meaning that a cause in one place (like Jupiter) can have an effect in another (like the sun) -- without any measurable 3D force (such as an electromagnetic wave) having measurably traversed the three-space distance in between."

In this classical Einsteinian view of physics, there is no "aether”—as it was called in Maxwell’s day—to carry electromagnetic radiation's transverse waves across the vacuum. In the hyperdimensional model, the aether is back -- as the actual transformation medium between the higher spatial realities and our dimension – through something called the “torsion field…”

This whole notion, that the changing [orbital] configuration of a planets (or star’s) system members relative to the “primary” can have an effect on its total energy output, is revolutionary to current thinking, but hardly without precedent.
In the 1940s, the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) hired John Nelson, a young electrical engineer, in an effort to improve the reliability of short-wave radio communications around Earth. Such radio transmissions had been observed to be more reliable in the "lulls" in between solar activity associated with "peak" sunspot years.

To his surprise, Nelson soon specifically correlated this rising and falling radio interference with not only the sunspot cycle, but with the motions of the major planets of the solar system. He found, to his increasing astonishment, a very repeatable—in essence, astrological—correlation between the inexorable orbits of all the planets (but especially, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, which hold essentially all the solar system's known angular momentum) and major radio-disturbing eruptions on the sun.

The hyperdimensional model finally provides a comprehensive theoretical explanation—a "linking mechanism"—for these (to a lot of astronomers) still embarrassing decades-old RCA observations. For, in essence, what John Nelson had rediscovered was nothing short of ”hyperdimensional astrology"—the ultimate, very ancient, now highly demonstrable angular momentum foundations behind the real influences of the sun and planets on our lives. Nelson also "rediscovered" something else:

"It is worthy of note that in 1948, when Jupiter and Saturn were spaced by 120º, and solar activity was at a maximum, radio signals averaged of far higher quality for the year than in 1951 with Jupiter and Saturn at 180º and a considerable decline in solar activity. In other words, the average quality curve of radio signals followed the cycle curve between Jupiter and Saturn rather than the sunspot curve...”

These decades-old observations are very telling ... not only confirming Jupiter and Saturn as the primary drivers behind the sun's known cycle of activity (in the hyperdimensional model), but strongly implying an additional direct effect of their changing angular relationship on the electrical properties of Earth's ionosphere. This, of course, is totally consistent with these changing planetary geometries affecting not just the sun, but the other planets simultaneously as well, just as "conventional" astrologers have claimed, via Maxwell's "changing scalar potentials.”

At this point, then, only the Hyperdimensional Theory:

1. Points to the deepest implications of the simple astronomical fact that the tail “does wag the dog" -- that the planets in this Physics are fully capable of exerting a determinant influence on the sun – and on each other -- through their disproportionate ratio of total solar system angular momentum: over 100 to 1, in the (known) planets' favor.

2. Possesses the precise physical mechanism -- via Maxwell's "changing quaternion scalar potentials" (also known now as the “torsion spin field”) -- accounting for this anomalous planetary angular momentum influence.

3. Has already publicly identified, at the United Nations in 1992, a blatant geometric clue to this entire hyperdimensional solar process: the maximum sunspot numbers (those large, relatively cool, rotating vortices appearing on the solar surface), rising, falling and methodically changing latitude, during the course of the familiar twenty-two-year solar cycle—and peaking every half-cycle (around eleven years), at the solar latitude of 19.5º.
Don’t you just love it when a good theory comes together so elegantly?

Make no mistake, if this Wilson et al. paper is widely accepted, somebody will eventually concoct a tenuous conventional explanation to rationalize the observations. But that theory will hold no more weight than the absurd “radiation degradation” idea that was floated about a few years ago to explain Iapetus 60,000-foot-high equatorial wall.

At some point, modern physicists will just have to face the unpleasant reality – Einstein was wrong about the aether; and Maxwell’s original “hyperdimensional physics/aether model” was right.

Edgar Mitchell Admits NASA Knows About ET

Dr. Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man to walk on the Moon and a 33 degree Scottish Rite Freemason, has admitted in an interview in England that UFO's (or ET's) are real, and furthermore NASA knows it.

Mitchell has always played up the reality of UFO's, while steadfastly denying our premise that the Moon is littered with artificial structures. We've always found it interesting that Mitchell encourages belief in something that will never be proven (flying saucers and aliens) but discourages belief in something that is eminently provable. It smacks to us of disinformation.

But, like all good disinformation, it must have a grain of truth in it to be credible. What we find most interesting politically is that he is throwing NASA under the bus, effectively admitting that NASA has covered up the evidence of ET’s all along.

I think there is a recent book out that has as its core premise the idea that NASA lies…

Just for additional clarification: According to the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal, there are in fact three official panoramas of the Apollo 14 landing site. There are additional partial pans there, but it is unclear whether they were assembled by NASA. The ALSJ has also assembled numerous pans of their own making. Our initial investigation only dealt with the three official pans issued by NASA and retained by Ken Johnston from (presumably) first generation negatives.

All data in our possession was sent to Dr. Mitchell in 1996. To this day he has not commented.

In 1968, Richard C. Hoagland was a science advisor to Walter Cronkite and CBS News and an independent science media consultant. At that time, literally just months before Apollo 11 would make the first manned lunar landing, Grumman Corporation (now Northrop\Grumman) the maker of the Lunar Module, issued a press kit to all the media of the day; television networks, newspapers and wire services. Its purpose was to inform the various newsmen of all the crucial facts and figures relating to the Lunar Module; how it was conceived, what it did and how it worked. As an adjunct to this rather dry and technical instruction manual, Grumman hired a young hotshot science writer to compose the part of the manual which dealt with the Moon itself. For this they wanted a touch of poetry, not just the arid facts and figures of the Moon’s diameter and material composition, but also of the lure of Luna herself. They wanted someone to reach deep into the lore of our nearest celestial neighbor and extract that which draws us to her, that which makes the Moon a mysterious and beckoning destination; that which makes her a Face that could launch a thousand missions, Dark and otherwise.

They chose Richard C. Hoagland.

As you read through this decades old essay, you’ll be surprised at how much of what we thought we knew then is now known to be wrong, and how much still has the ringing echo of truth. Just after this was issued, he handed a copy to Sir Arthur C. Clarke, the author of 2001 and then a freshly minted on-air science consultant to CBS News as well. Clarke took the manual home that same night and brought it back to the young Mr. Hoagland the next day with a one word review: “Excellent!”

After reading it myself, 40 years after Sir Arthur, I cannot disagree.

His writing is lyrical and inspiring (did he really use the word “limned?”), as I think the Grumman folks meant it to be, but it is still stylishly, undeniably “Hoagy-esque.” There is at least one clever, interesting little surprise in the essay, a coincidence so obvious that it begs to question whether it is really a coincidence at all. Perhaps it is what Richard likes to call a “resonance” in the Hyperdimensional aether.

Or maybe it’s something more.

Take a few minutes and read it yourself, and let’s see how quickly you can all figure out the surprise I’m talking about. Even if you can’t, you’ll still enjoy the piece, even from the perspective of forty years of lunar history. I know I did.

Blogging Roswell

No, this isn’t the name of some new post-punk Irish-indie group, it’s my travelogue from my 4th of July weekend pilgrimage to the Mecca of UFOlogy; Roswell, New Mexico.

I was asked to speak at the Roswell CE4 conference because Joe Jordan, one of the organizers (and a hell of a nice guy) liked Dark Mission and because they couldn’t get Richard to come. I was happy to do it because I love to talk about Dark Mission, I love meeting new people, and it gave me an excuse to go to New Mexico and have some meetings with Richard on Dark Mission II. After some scheduling conflicts were resolved, my lecture was scheduled for Saturday afternoon the 5th of July.

Because I hate to fly, I decided to leave my day job (I’m a card carrying member of the military\industrial complex) early on Thursday the 3rd and drive to Phoenix for the night, leaving a relatively easy 6-hour run to Albuquerque on Friday. The drive to Phoenix was uneventful, except for the beautiful desert scenery and blue skies. I stayed at the Glendale Renaissance hotel, which is right across the parking lot from the Cardinals new stadium (and was built for last years Super Bowl). It’s a gorgeous hotel, and if you get a chance to stay in the Phoenix area, I highly recommend it. I grabbed dinner at the Yardhouse, right next to the hotel, and had two beers, blowing my diet for the week. Oh well.

As I walked back to the hotel there was an intense lighting storm just a mile or two away (it was like 113 degrees that day). No thunder, just lightening every 5 seconds or so. This seemed not to bother the locals, who blissfully chatted under lampposts and tall trees, apparently not too worried about getting “Dannion Brinklyed” by the electrical storm. I got inside as quickly as I could.

I arrived in Albuquerque only to find Richard hobbled from the venomous bite of some unknown insect or arachnid. The pain was so bad that we couldn’t really even discuss the new data he wanted to show me, so Robin and I watched fireworks from the porch of the hacienda de Hoagy.

The next day, I mounted my trusty steed Beyonce’ (because she’s black, she’s beautiful, and she has a very shapely… um, trunk) and hit the road to Roswell. I elected to take the long route because I wanted to see more of the countryside and I had plenty of time to get there. Along the I-25 I passed by signs pointing to the Very Large Array, and I was sorely tempted to divert there and hang out for the day, but duty called and I didn’t want to disappoint my fans (all three of them). One thing I discovered is that New Mexico has an abundance of suicidal bunnies that set up shop in the middle of the freeway or try to run under your car without getting hit. They are very good at this, and after driving over one of them and not touching a hare on his head, I decided that maybe it wasn’t a great idea to be texting on the freeway at 80 miles per hour. The experience did inspire me however, as I am now committed to starting an all girl goth-punk band called The Suicide Bunnies. Apply within…

When I got to the conference site I immediately saw a familiar face, producer Paul Davids (of “Roswell” fame) and had a nice chat, having not seen him in years. Inside I met Joe and Free Ward and a number of other very nice people who were part of the conference. After setting up my video and slide show with the projection folks, I slide down to the auditorium to catch the tail end of Farah Yurdozu’s lecture, which had a surprising number if parallels to mine. After a short break, Peter Robbins gave me a very nice introduction and I took the stage.

The talk went well, although I went a bit overtime as it’s well-nigh impossible to compress a 550 page book into a 90 minute lecture slot, but apparently I did OK. Most people that saw the lecture told me it was very good, and evidently I’ll be receiving a DVD of it soon so you’ll be able to judge for yourself. Richard Dolan was particularly nice, and it was good to meet a familiar and respected figure from the UFO community.

I would have liked to have stayed, but duty (and Richard) called so I headed back to Albuquerque. Richard was feeling better from his scorpion sting, and Steve Basset was in the driveway when I got there so we all hung out for the evening. Robin made us another great dinner and after that Richard blew my head up (again!) with the new material. I have to admit, I was skeptical of this new direction for Dark Mission II, but after seeing what he has I was gung-ho. The new data is REALLY cool.

The next day it was back to LA and very perturbed cat, who only had the critter care lady to keep her company while I was gallivanting around the country. Fortunately, she’s forgiven me just in time for her birthday, which is Friday. I’m getting her a session with a pet psychic.

All in all, it was fun. I wish I could have hung out in Roswell more, and if they invite me again I certainly will. The town is very nice and the alien motif is everywhere. I highly recommend you go sometime; it’s a really fun little town.

New Study Confirms More Aspects of Mars Tidal Model

As you’ll recall, in 2001 Richard Hoagland and I published the Mars Tidal Model. In this extensive paper we argued that Mars was not a planet at all, but rather a moon of a now missing member of the solar system commonly called Planet V. We cited numerous lines of evidence supporting our hypothesis, including the existence of bands in Mars magnetic field comprised of alternating polarities. We argued that this magnetic banding was caused by multiple (and devastating) impacts to the Martian surface from high velocity debris released by the destruction of Planet V, Mars’ tidal locked parent body. In our scenario, the alternating bands of magnetic material were the result of standing P and S waves reverberating within the molten sea of material that made up the southern hemisphere of Mars below the line of dichotomy.

Now, new computer models have confirmed this aspect of our research. In several major news articles published today, three separate computer studies agree that the magnetic banding was caused by an asteroid impact. They argue that it was a single impact, rather than multitudes of them as our model suggests, but this is a minor point.

The news articles also maintain that this event took place at the dawn of the solar system, but this time frame is based on a bias that the more cratered southern hemisphere is older. According to the conventional geologic models of Mars’ formation, most impact events took place back in this time period because there was far more accretion debris in the solar system back then. Our model says exactly the opposite; that the more crated southern highlands below the line of dichotomy are a result of the pile-up of debris from the recent (65 MYA) destruction of Planet V.

This is just the latest in a series of observations and peer reviewed papers that have confirmed various aspects of the Mars Tidal Model.

I had the pleasure of attending the “Tiny Ninja’s Macbeth” presentation at The Fake theater in Hollywood on Monday night. Put on by my friend Christian Meoli and his production company Cabaret Voltaire, you actually have to see this to believe it. Tiny Ninja Theater is a New York City based company dedicated to the principle that “there are no small parts, only small actors,” and was founded in 1999 by company director Dov Weinstein. “I had noticed that there were these tiny plastic ninjas in vending machines all across the city,” said Weinstein, “but no one was using them to perform classical theater. Something had to be done.”

Frankly, the performance is hysterical. Weinstein is a brilliant actor -- and I’m not exaggerating when I say that – he knows all the parts and characters intimately and performs the play flawlessly. It’s just that the actors are all tiny ninja action figures. The “stage” is little table about the size of a briefcase, he uses magnetic bases to “move” the characters around, and the whole thing is projected on video screens so the audience can see clearly. His version of the play lasts about 45 minutes and involves set changes, costume changes and special effects. I laughed my head off the whole time, while also marveling at how good the oratory was.

Bottom line, if you get a chance to see Weinstein work his magic, whether it’s Macbeth or another Shakespeare play, do it. It’ll be the best 45 minutes of your week for sure.

The broadcast-quality lilt of Coast to Coast AM radio host George Noory wafted over a packed conference room at Beverly Garland’s Holiday Inn last Saturday night as he a moderated a panel of out-there researchers engaged in a radical examination of Hollywood’s covert use of occult symbolism and alien agendas — the same week that the Vatican’s chief astronomer told an interviewer that belief in alien life does not contradict belief in God. As Noory told the audience, “There’s definitely a sense of an impending ... something.”

Noory is the successor to radio’s legendary Art Bell, who stoked a particular millennial Zeitgeist with his fireside chats on UFOs, the paranormal and all manner of conspiracy theories with his syndicated radio program, before passing the mike to Noory in 2002. Coast to Coast AM remains a cultural touchstone, and Noory — personable and mustachioed — continues to bring so-called fringe ideas front and center.

We’re at “an extraordinary crossroads, with the way life is unfolding,” commented panelist Whitley Strieber, whose most recent novel is based on the doomsday/consciousness-shifting 2012 mythos, and who believes he was “implanted” with a device by his “visitors.” He recalled a bit of the aliens’ verbiage: “We will come from within you.”

According to panelist/abduction therapist Yvonne Smith, 17 functional-growth characteristics in humans born between 1947 and 1987 have been accelerated by 60 to 80 percent. “It’s not environment, it’s not evolution,” she asserted.

A “mutation of society” is under way, and “the skeptic community is getting quieter and quieter,” remarked Dr. Roger Leir, a Valley-based podiatrist, who removes alleged alien implants.

Jordan Maxwell, an expert in occult symbolism and secret societies, likened Americans to Alec Guinness’ blindly megalomaniacal lieutenant colonel in The Bridge on the River Kwai once he realizes he’s been working for the enemy: “What have I done? There is no way out.”

“Jordan’s been looking down the barrel of the New World Order for nearly 50 years,” Noory said.

Maxwell, expounding upon the secret fraternal orders to which our government and religious leaders are bound, remarked, “The Da Vinci Code and National Treasure are teasers. The powers behind Hollywood are Knights Templars, showing you what they can do.”

“What does Hollywood know that we don’t?” asked panelist Jay Weidner, producer of the documentary 2012: The Odyssey. Was Eyes Wide Shut a representation of a sex cult for rich perverts, or a portrait of the Illuminati? Subversive director Stanley Kubrick died two hours after bringing a rough cut of the film to Warner Bros. “Like the Zapruder film, you can see what he was trying to say by what’s missing,” said Weidner, who believes Kubrick fled for England in the ’60s after experiencing events depicted in the film. (Scientologists Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, he said, were simply cast as part of “an inside joke.”)

In Rosemary’s Baby, John Cassavetes’ character eagerly permits the devil to impregnate his wife to ensure his Broadway stardom. “He’s the spitting image of Jack Parsons [black magician and co-founder of Pasadena’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory],” claimed Mike Bara, co-author with Richard C. Hoagland of the recent best-seller Dark Mission: The Secret History of NASA. “It’s the magical ritual known as the Babylon Working. Rosemary becomes the mother of the antichrist.”

A question came from the audience: “There’s so much to dissect from entertainment now — Iron Man, Battlestar Galactica, The Mist, Marvel’s Sons of the Serpent. There’s even a conspiracy theorist in Justice League of America.” The bearded young man echoed the sentiments of many assembled: “Why now?”

“They release little bits of truth, so that in the future they can say, ‘We said that years ago,’” Maxwell answered. “You’ve got to read between the lines.” Entertainment is used to indoctrinate or spread disinformation. Case in point: Universal’s recent optioning of the “period” action script The Knights Templar. “Each time you get a bigger sense of how the game is being played, you are less manipulated by it.” Maxwell asked the audience to verify his contentions — Rome is still in control, a powerful occult system has dominated consensus reality for thousands of years — by forcing us to pay attention to “their” symbols: words, flags, coats of arms. “Once you see [it] organized, it’s frightening.”

“The Gnostic belief is that we must have an apocalypse to bring about the golden age,” Weidner commented. “But is that apocalypse the death of all of us, or the death of consciousness as we know it?”

The Mayan calendar, which runs out at midnight on December 12, 2012, is expected to take us out, whether by mass extinction, interplanetary invasion or a total paradigm shift — a metaphysical bang or a cosmic whimper. With four years and counting, Maxwell advised, “always trust those who are looking for the truth.”

UFO’s, Magic and Mysticism in Hollywood – May 17th, 2008

Thanks to Jay Weider and Christian Meoli of Sacred Mysteries Live, I was invited as a special guest to their panel discussion entitled "UFO's, Magic and Mysticism in Hollywood" last Saturday night. Officially, I was an "invited guest" along with Yvonne Smith (an expert on UFO abduction cases) and Harijiwan Khalsa, an expert in kundalini yoga. The panel itself consisted of Coast to Coast AM host George Noory, who did a masterful job in moderating the panel, Jordan Maxwell, the patron saint of conspiracy theorists, Dr. Roger Leir, the doctor who has removed scads of alien implants from his patients, Whitley Strieber, the author of "Communion" and numerous other books on the abduction phenomena (and a variety of fictional tales of horror), and Jay Weidner, who runs Sacred Mysteries and is the co-author of The Mysteries of the Great Cross of Hendaye.

I got there a bit after 7:30, mostly because I had to park almost a half mile away because the hotel parking lot was full. When I got there, the place was already quite full (they had over 300 attendees) and buzzing with anticipation. The first person I saw was Tom Danheiser, George's producer on Coast to Coast. We've met before and had a nice chat, and I began to notice it was pretty hot in the room.

After that, I circulated a bit and talked to George. He commented that he didn't remember me having a goatee the last time we met. I thought I did. Oh well.

I was glad to reconnect with Harijiwan, who I first met at the Sacred Mysteries 2012 "Shift Happens" conference last March. He's a really joyful and funny guy, much different than you'd expect him to be given his evolved state of consciousness. As we posed for a picture, I pointed out to him that if I studied with him and became a Yogi, my name would be Yogi Bara. He liked that. I definitely have to attend one of his workshops someday soon.

The start was delayed a few minutes because Christian wanted to give those that had to park far away a chance to get in the door. Strieber, who I had not met, was having none of that. After just a few minutes of waiting, he marched up to the podium, took the microphone and announced to everybody that it was time to start. We all kind of took our cues from him and got into our seats.

What followed was a very interesting and free flowing discussion about the state of the world in general, 2012, and the alien presence, such as it is. I found Dr. Leir to be thoughtful and insightful, Jordan to be a master storyteller as always, and Strieber to be relentlessly grim. Jay could hardly get a word in edgewise, but I got the impression he was having a great time just listening to the others talk.

The only real problem I really had with any of them was with Whitley Strieber. He's firmly convinced that world is going to hell in a hand basket; that we're running out of oil, that we're running out of food, that the weather is getting worse and spiraling out of control, that we're all about to die in some unimaginable calamity. Now, to be fair, I think something really bad might happen around 2012 or shortly thereafter myself, but most of the rest of what he said was just plain wrong.

For one thing, the world is not running out of oil. Our current inflationary problems are with energy production, not energy supply. There remain vast reserves of oil all throughout the world, enough for centuries yet if choose to continue to be an oil based economy. That's not to mention all the reachable shale oil, coal for liquefaction, and many other means of energy production at our disposal.

As Jack Kemp famously said in the early 1980's, when inflation was far worse and the world was experiencing the Keynesian impossibility of stagflation, "the answer to inflation is production."

The issues we face today are solely of our own making. For three decades, the Democratic Party in this country has done everything it could to stifle the production of new domestic energy, be it drilling for oil in the so-called "Alaskan Wildlife Refuge," loosening the restrictions on safe and clean nuclear power, or "protecting" land where the aforementioned coal liquefaction plants could be built. Bob Brinker, the host of the syndicated radio program "Money Talk," has some great ideas about how to increase our energy supply cheaply, efficiently and with virtually zero impact on the environment. This latter point is important, because environmental impact is the most commonly used excuse for not allowing nuclear plants, oil platforms or gasoline refineries to be built. Check out his monologue from last week's program at http://www.bobbrinker.com. It was a real eye opener for me.

One other point on this; there is a growing belief amongst geologists that the whole concept of oil as a "fossil fuel" may be wrong. Led by the late Dr. Thomas Gold, there is mounting evidence that oil may in fact not be a byproduct of biological degradation, but rather a naturally produced component of the Earth itself. If this is true and the Earth is constantly manufacturing new supplies of oil, then the reality is that we will never run out of it, and the perception of scarcity is a major component of the high prices we are seeing today. Gold's theories deserve a fair hearing and an honest test.

The point is, contrary to what Strieber and so many in the anomalist community seem to believe, the world is not crashing down around us. We feed and house more people every year, infant mortality rates decline every year, life spans increase every year, and every year we discover new and effective treatments and cures against the diseases that used to ravage us. In short, the human condition gets better every year that goes by, not worse.

If you're getting the impression I didn't care for Strieber too much, you're correct. Not only did I feel he was misinformed on the state of affairs in the world today, I also felt he hated being up on stage and couldn't wait to get out of there. As soon as George started to wind down the panel, Strieber bolted from his chair, collected his wife and was out the side door so fast he left a vapor trail. Anybody who thought they might get a chance to talk to him during the break was probably disappointed. He struck me as having contempt for his audience, which is something I've never seen from George or Richard, or from most of the authors and researchers I've met over the years. They are always gracious and giving of their time and happy to meet their fans.

To be fair, everybody has bad days, and maybe he just wasn't feeling well or was exhausted from a long trip. I don't know. But he could have done a better job of acting like he cared about being there.

After a short break, we reconvened the panel without Whitley and George, but with me, Harijiwan and Yvonne. We took about 20 questions before the night was over, and I felt bad for kind of dominating the mic at times. It's just that there were a bunch of questions that were right up my alley, so I couldn't just sit back and not say anything.

Afterwards, a bunch of us went out to grab a bite, and I didn't actually get to bed until about 4:00 AM. Still, it was fun night and I'm glad I went.

The only real disappointment is that we didn't get too much into the messages in Hollywood films angle, which was actually the advertised subject of the panel. This happens sometimes with panels.

Richard and I are discussing holding a Hollywood themed event ourselves this fall, and we'll definitely keep it more on the subject if we do.

Crystal Skulls Special to be Repeated Tonight

The SciFi network special The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls will be repeated tonight, Tuesday May 20th, at 8PM (7 Central) in what SciFi is calling an encore special presentation. Overnight ratings from Sunday’s premiere indicate it may be the most watched special program in the history of the SciFi channel network.

The show features about 25 minutes of interviews and footage conducted with Dark Mission co-author Richard C. Hoagland and first aired last Sunday night, May 18th.
