Appart from the incredible, dare I use the word, "simplicity" (sometimes simplicity can be the hardest thing to achieve) of the floating platform, it's interesting that when the anti-gravitational effect is occuring that the platform and the operator within the field becomes nigh on invisible or optically diffused to the naked eye. However, as we've recently been hearing 'anti-gravity' craft appear to be visible in the IR spectrum using 3rd generation infrared goggles even though they're usually not visible to the naked eye.
Anyway, these links point to a discovery which, to me, seems too elegant to be fictional.
